For the pre-war generations, the Polish identity of Warmia and Mazury was given to us as a gift, but also as a duty. This subject is the focus of Odnalezione przeznaczenia, directed by Wanda Laddy.
Some came to remember people who are no longer with us, others to understand what brought them here after the war. And to appreciate what they did for us. The very fact that so few ask themselves where they came from and why they are here, speaks volumes. And yet it was not by magic that turned East Prussia into Warmia and Masuria. For many it remains, as it ever was, their fatherland or motherland….
