Zakrzewski Mill in Elbląg (19th century for the extant building)

The original Zakrzewski Mill was built shortly after the city was founded in the 13th century – however, the current building dates from 1886-1891. Written sources describe a bloody battle taking place at the Liefarths-Mühle (as it was known at the time) in 1273. Excavations in 1884-1885 corroborate this account, finding evidence of settlements at the mill area during that timeframe. The structure was part of the Groß Wesseln land estate until 1839, hence the name “Wesseln Mühle”.

The mill currently houses the Urokliva Beauty Centre.
