A castle in Giżycko, sited at the isthmus of lakes Niegocin and Kisajno, on the shores of Giżycko Canal and at Stanisława Moniuszki street. It currently houses one of the St. Bruno hotels. This prosecutor’s castle was built by Teutonic Knights around mid-14th century, as evidenced by a 1340 entry mentioning a Teutonic prosecutor who resided there while serving in a judicial, commanding and administrative capacity. In 1513, the castle wound up in the hands of lay administrators and was rebuilt in 1560. In 1614, it was converted into a Renaissance-style hunter’s lodge. After partial remodelling in the mid-19th century, it was used by Boyen Fortress officers.
The castle was abandoned in 1945. After a 1960s renovation effort, a hotel was established in the building. The castle was entered into the register of monuments on 24th May 1979. One of the walls was damaged in 2008. The castle was rebuilt in 2009–2011 as a hotel.
