Smolajny – 17th-century Baroque palace and gate tower

The village was founded in 1399. For centuries, Banaszki was home to a Prussian manor farm.

Some remnants of the old growth forests have survived in the park surrounding the manor: hornbeams and a monumental oak. A granite horse statue stands in the park. The horse, immortalized in granite, was the favourite mount of one of the estate’s owners. The manor house was built at the beginning of the 20th century. It is a one-storeyed building with a mansard roof, adorned with a small lantern on the top. Jutting out from the front elevation is a decorative, flat avant-corps behind a four-columned terrace. The formal area is complemented by a large driveway. The manor is private property.
