Popielno – animal husbandry research station

True tarpans, also known as Polish primitive horses or “Koniks”, can still be seen at the Polish Academy of Sciences animal husbandry research station in Popielno.

These extremely hardy animals live in Popielno in an environment kept as close as possible to their natural habitat. The horses live in the wild all year round. Many other animals can be encountered as well.
