Olsztynek – Mrongowiusz’s house

In 1648 the half-shell tower of the defensive walls was converted into the building of the Evangelical parish of the nearby church.

In 1894 Olsztynek’s municipal government leased the building and used it as a hospital and a poorhouse for the aged. In the 1970s, the building was renovated and transformed into a museum dedicated to Krzysztof Celestyn Mrongowiusz and a museum of a World War II POW camp.
