Lidzbark Warmiński – Romanian cemetery

The Lidzbark Warmiński Cemetery is the only Romanian cemetery in Poland. The cemetery is the resting place of WWI prisoners of war.

Most of the buried soldiers are Russian (about 2 thousand) and Romanian (about 500). There are also remains of Britons, Serbs, French, Italians and Belgians. The cemetery was devastated during the communist era. Only a few tombstones have survived, along with a mound and a cross. The remains of the cemetery were restored in 1989.
