Hejdyk – historic wooden village

Hejdyk is a village founded in 1758 as a “coffer” settlement.

The 18th-century plot plan and the quintessential wooden buildings arranged in the layout known as the “linear settlement” have been preserved within the village to this day, and it is these architectural features that give Hejdyk its one-of-a-kind charm. The roofs with their decorated gables and the intricately decorated, beautiful wooden porches, all combine to make Hejdyk a very interesting historic setting.
