The Gasworks Museum is located within the historic gasworks building in Górowo Iławeckie. The museum was established in 1994.
The renovation of the building uncovered historic features, which now form part of the exhibition.
An early 20th century brick floor was discovered in the furnace house. Outside the building, the beautiful, original old cobblestone paving surfaced after the ground level was lowered. The renovation works also involved the replacement and strengthening of sections of the wall, as well as securing and suspending the gas tank. The former coal storage room is now used to hold sundry gasworks equipment: gas meters, pressure gauges, gas stoves and ovens.
