original title: Nowa Krew [New Blood]
The film deals with the economic migration of people from the Mazurian village of Stare Juchy to Iceland. So far, almost half of the 1000 residents have emigrated to the island, leaving behind a void. Those who stayed in their home town keep in touch with their loved ones through the transient bond of internet communication, such as Skype. The filmmakers spent 21 days of the 60-day shoot in Stare Juchy.
The film was released in domestic cinemas and on DVD. It was honoured with the Special Jury Award at the 31st International Documentary Film Festival Amsterdam. The critics of the Millennium Docs Against Gravity Festival in Warsaw declared IN TOUCH to be a forerunner of a new wave of Polish documentary cinema.
