The narrative debut of the acclaimed documentary filmmaker Edyta Wróblewska, produced by Studio Munka SFP as part of the 30 Minutes series.

The film tells the story of a woman’s awakening at a crucial moment in her life. The protagonist is with a soon-to-be-born child and has to decide on the future of her ill-fated relationship.

Already at the pre-production stage, the project received a positive opinion and review from the Warmia-Mazury Film Fund’s experts (Jerzy Stuhr, Joanna Kos-Krauze and Andrzej Serdiukow).

The film was very well received by the Fund’s Inspection Committee, which stated in its minutes: “This short-firm directorial debut of the well-known documentary filmmaker Edyta Wróblewska is notable for its high production and artistic values. The film’s story about feelings, responsibility for other people, the clash between different people’s dreams, marital infidelity and, finally, solidarity between women from two different worlds is given life through a great and clever script. Another strength of the film lies in the cinematography by Malte Rosenfeld, almost all of which was shot in Warmia and Mazury – showcasing the outdoors, nature and architecture of the region (through the theme of the journey) – and includes night sequences, which play an important dramatic role”.

Edyta Wróblewska – who, by her own account, likes Warmia and Mazury and has been visiting her friends in the region for many years – set out to show the unique character of this “Holy Warmia”, with its chapels and places of worship. The film treats them not just as part of the landscape, but also a landmark of the heroine’s journey. The movie stars Agnieszka Skrzypczak, an actress from Ostróda. Grzegorz Gromek, an actor associated with the Jaracz Theatre in Olsztyn, appears in one of the supporting roles.
