The only Gothic town hall in Warmia, dating from 1375. In the 17th and 18th centuries it was ringed by arcaded houses, once used by market traders. Until 1920, the ground floor of the building was occupied by a market hall, whereas the first floor housed the chambers of the town council and the mayor, as well as a meeting room.
After the devastation brought upon by World War II, the town hall was rebuilt and repurposed as a cultural centre.
The two-storey building is 40 metres in length with decorative gables (stepped and pinnacled) on both facades. The roof is adorned with a baroque clock tower featuring the oldest bell in Warmia, which dates from 1384.
